We're switching it up. On Wednesdays, I'm writing the strips. That's right, me! It's time to prove if I've got the skill to actually write Couch Philosophy! If I fail, though, Siv will take over.
Before that, though, some stuff:
I'm not writing in my usual style, I have decided to write in Siv's style so that it won't be jarring. However, the humor style will obviously be my own. Another thing is I can't write me the way I would just write down dialogue for myself in my show Watching Crap or anything like that. I have to write myself as Siv would. But in the case of Mallory and I, this time I'm not the truly funny one. But I hope it will be a more engaging type of conversation than a typical red oni/blue oni one.
Siv will, however, come up with the first panels every week. He also had a part in choosing the Mallory character, who is an interesting combination of several people I've known.
The conundrum I'm faced with is to not spread the net too wide by giving my strips broad pop cultural appeal, which might contrast too harshly with the other strips and turn some readers off. So I'm trying to inject philosophy, albeit in an unstated, unsourced sort of way.
I hope you enjoy these new Wednesday updates!

Good work by Gib. I have to step it up for my next comic script, can't have Gib doing all the heavy lifting around here! We seem to have a lot of comics about memory. Memory is pretty important I guess.

Philosophy is in everything we touch. It's the study of thought, of the world, of what it means to be human. It is ingrained in the seed of every idea we have.

So don't think too hard about it Gib! Around here, philosophy thinks you. We're just along for the ride.

Toast is dangerous folks, especially if disguised. Watch out.
